Sinusitis is an inflammation of your sinuses that can be treated using several different types of medicines and even home remedies. The goal of such treatments is to reduce the sinus swelling, improve mucus drainage, relieve pressure and pain, cure the infection, and prevent scar tissue formation to avoid permanent damage to the nose and sinus tissues. However, the infection itself can be hard to diagnose because the symptoms look like common cold symptoms and those of other similar infections. In children, it can be especially hard to diagnose. It is important to look for signs and recognize them early on so that the child can start treatment early.
