Neck pain occurs due to various reasons. The primary causes are: muscle tension and strain due to poor posture, prolonged working at a desk, bad position during sleep and poor exercise technique. Frequently, neck pain is not caused by a serious condition and can be readily treated using effective home remedies.
1. Ice Pack. Ice packs can alleviate pain and help remove inflammation. A bag with frozen peas can be used as well. To use, wrap a thin towel around the plastic bag with crushed ice cubes. Position this ice pack on the hurting neck for less than 15 minutes each time. Repeat this process every 2-3 hours during the first 24 hours.
